Richard Childress

Richard is a native of Tennessee and a graduate of Carson Newman University (B.A.), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Div), and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (D. Min). He has served churches in Signal Mountain, TN, Franklin, VA, and most recently New Hope Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. 


His wife Pam is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and works in Nash County.  They have four adult children: Daniel married to Laura and lives in Atlanta, Lauren and Hannah live in Brier Creek, and Tyler in north Raleigh. 


Richard enjoys spending time with family, traveling and sports.  He currently serves on the board of the BNG Baptist News Global an independent Baptist news agency founded in 2014 as a merger of Associated Baptist Press (ABP) and the Religious Herald, which was founded in 1828.   


Keith Vaughn

Ministry: Keith Vaughn joined the Westwood family as Associate Pastor in June of 2009..

 

Education: Keith graduated from Stetson University in 1986, where he earned his BA degree in Religious Studies. He graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1989 with a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in teaching. In 2012, he earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Campbell University Divinity School with a concentration in Christian Education.

 

Family: Keith is married to Teresa, who is employed at Wake Radiology. They have two sons, Nic and Josh.

 

Lee Webb

Lee is a native Mississippian and graduate of Mississippi College (B.M., Church Vocal), and holds the B.C.M. and M.C.M. Degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as Minister of Music in Elkin, Lenoir, Cary, and Whiteville, NC; and in Louisville, Owensboro and Richmond, KY. Since his retirement from full-time ministry, he has served as interim minister of music for four other churches in Apex, Cary and Raleigh.



 

Patricia (Patti,) his wife of over fifty years, is a retired church organist and private piano teacher. They began working together on a church staff before their engagement and served together in all but one of their churches. Since retirement, Patti has served as interim organist at Olive Chapel in Apex, and Hayes Barton Baptist in Raleigh. Also, she has been substitute organist at a number of other churches in the area.



 

They are the parents of two daughters, Leanne and Susan who both live in Apex. Leanne, and husband Scot Glasgow, are the parents of William (deceased), twins Sean and Catherine. Susan and Henry Meador are the parents of Hannah.



Michelle Anderson

Ministry: Michelle Anderson joined the Westwood family as Minister of Youth in May of 2004.



Education: Michelle graduated from Wake Forest University in 2003, where she earned a BA degree in Psychology. In 2007, she received a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Christian Education from Campbell University Divinity School.


 

Family: She is married to Ben Anderson, who is a Media Specialist at McGee’s Crossroads Elementary School in Angier.

Becky Bullock

Becky Bullock joined the Westwood family as Administrative Assistant in January of 2006. She lives in Fuquay-Varina where she is a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Jennifer Watkins

Jennifer Watkins joined the Westwood Baptist staff as Secretary/Receptionist in April 2015.

 

She lives in Garner with her two children Johnathan (8) and Jenna (7). Jennifer is also a preacher's daughter. Her deceased father, Rev. John Shelton, died in 1995 while serving as pastor of Inwood Baptist in Raleigh. Also, Jennifer's 7 year old daughter is a cancer survivor of 4 1/2 years. She was diagnosed at age 1 with Neuroblastoma, but praise God she has been cancer free for 4 1/2 years. Jennifer is a active member of First Baptist Church; Garner where Jennifer serves in the Worship Choir.
