Westwood offers missions education opportunities for all age groups:

Mission Friends for children ages 2 years through 5 years: These children hear stories about missionaries and do activities that relate to these missionaries.

GA's is the mission organization for girls 1st-6th grades and RA's is the organization for the boys. They learn about mission work throughout the world, learn scripture verses, and participate in hands on projects to help other people. They also have opportunities to attend camps in the summer.

Baptist Women Groups meet monthly at different times study, pray, give and participate in missions opportunities. Meeting times as follows:

Round Table – 3rd Tuesday 10:00AM at Church

Current Day Mission Group – 4th Tuesday 10:00 AM Church

Evening Mission Evening Group – 4th Thursday 7:00 PM in members homes

Dorcas Shop Volunteers – Members (men and women) work at the Dorcas shop on a weekly schedule. Dorcas Shop is a Thrift Store.

Baptist Men: Groups go monthly to Grifton, NC to work on homes destroyed by hurricane Floyd. As Christians we all are commissioned by Jesus to be involved in missions. In Acts 1:8, Jesus commanded his followers to “be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the ends of the earth.” Through this commission, Christ gives us a mission and method of spreading the Good News. The message closely parallels the Great Commission in Matt. 28: 19-20. Simply, we are to begin missions at home and extend to the most remote places on earth.

The objective of Baptist Men at Westwood is to involve our members in missions. First to understand the importance of praying for and giving to missions and then to have hands on experiences in helping others. This is done through local mission projects, disaster relief and recovery work through North Carolina Baptist Men, and overseas mission opportunities. Our aim is to do at least one mission project each month.

Handy Man Group – Assist sick and disabled that need work done on their homes.
