Words from the "Interim"...
The words “Thank You” are not adequate for all who participated in the special services of Holy Week. From Palm Sunday to Maundy Thursday to the Easter Drive Thru to Easter Sunday, tons of energy and time went into all of these events to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. My hat is off to all of you for making the presentation of the Gospel so special during this holy time of the year! The words “newness” and “growth” come to my mind during the month of April. New life bursts forth from nature as trees, shrubs, flowering plants, grass, etc. begin their spring growth after a long dormant winter. I really enjoy this time of the year even as I tolerate the pollen that causes my allergies to give me lots of trouble. I like seeing fields turned and prepared for planting of crops, gardens prepared for planting of vegetables and yards prepared for new growth. You probably know some people who have been dormant with respect to the church. They have membership in the church yet have not attended Sunday School or Worship for quite some time. Now is a good time and opportunity for you to contact them and encourage them to return. As this happens and people return, we will experience growth. You probably know some people who have not made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. Now is a good time to invite them to church-now is a good time for you to share the gospel with them. We will celebrate newness of life when people make their profession of faith. My prayer is
for Westwood to experience “newness” and “growth”
during this Spring Season. I look forward to seeing you each Sunday
and Wednesday in April. Blessings, |

| So You're a Christian, Now What? April 6th I recently saw a bumper sticker that proclaimed, Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional. On the surface, that philosophy may sound appealing, but Scripture has different advice for the believer. 1 Peter 2:2-3 reads, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” (NIV) Christianity is all about growth. Just as our physical bodies continually grow and develop, as Christians we should be consistently developing skills for functioning and growing in the Body of Christ. But too many Christian adults fail to thrive spiritually and as a result find themselves wandering in spiritual confusion and frustration, never understanding why they're so unsatisfied. If you can relate to this description, then we’re offering a bible study that might help. It’s called, So You’re a Christian, Now What? and is based on the book of that title written by Catherine Painter. This is a twelve week study that will be offered during the Sunday School hour (9:15-10:15) beginning April 6. The study will be taught by Mike Eddinger and will be limited to 16 participants. Offered for both new and long-time believers, participants will learn the similarities and differences in being born, and being born again; how to communicate with God in prayer and quiet times; how to feed themselves with God's Word; how to dress themselves in the armor of God; how to assume their role in the family using their talents and spiritual gifts; what it means to bear the family resemblance by manifesting the fruit of the Spirit; how to share their testimony; how to walk the road that leads to life; and how to talk the language of Christians. So whether you're a new Christian wondering where to go from here, or a long-time Christian who knows you've missed something somewhere along the way, we invite you to join us as we explore our spiritual journeys together. You can enroll by adding your name to the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in Hall A. You can also read a review of this book at: |

| If You Could Save A Life, Would You? May Betsy came into the Pregnancy Care Center at Drexel several months ago 17 weeks pregnant. Her purpose was to obtain information about an abortion. Through the intake process, it was learned Betsy had another child and was hard up financially. She was asked about adoption but said she could not do that.
