| The Ministry
of Comfort The word “comfort” is actually made up of two words “com” and “forte.” “Com” means “with” or “along side of” and “Forte” means “strength.” To comfort means to come along side of someone with strength. Jesus promised his disciples the Holy Spirit, a helper who would comfort them. Christians are admonished by scripture to comfort one another, to encourage one another, to be a helper to those in need. The joy of ministry is the privilege of being available to be with someone in their time of need. Opportunities abound. At one time or another every person needs help, care, encouragement, a companion, a friend. In writing to the troubled Corinthian Christians, the Apostle Paul said, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-5) If you have walked through difficult trials and tribulations you know how much it meant for someone to come along side of you with strength and encouragement. If you have received such comfort you are in a better position to comfort someone else who may be experiencing what you have experienced. When
we come along side of someone who is in need of comfort we become
for them the very presence of Christ. What a privilege we have as
Christians to be a comfort to those in need.

A special thank you goes out to RA boys and leaders who “worked the line” and made the sale possible. It is our prayer that a young boy’s life will be changed this summer because of the opportunity to spend a week at a beautiful camp and hear the word of God. |

ROYAL AMBASSADORS This
past Memorial Day weekend some of the Royal Ambassador boys helped
to commemorate Memorial Day in a special way. On Sunday afternoon,
May 28, the boys assisted the America Legion Post 67 and Auxiliary
in placing flags on the gravesites of Veterans at Hill Crest Cemetery
in Cary. The boys were invited to participate in this event by our
own members, Curtis and Sybil Leary, who are members of the American
Legion Post 67. The boys were able to help identify the headstones
of more than 100 veterans and to set the flags in place before them.
Both before and after completing their task, the boys were taught
the reasons we honor our veterans with the placing of flags. The boys
were very attentive and respectful throughout the afternoon, working
along side veterans, RA leaders, parents and siblings. Those RA boys
in attendance were: TC and JC Cunningham, Seph Hefelfinger, Andrew
Lombardi and Eli White. Also helping were siblings Lauralee Hefelfinger
and William White, as well as parents Tim and Mary Cunningham, Scott
and Kim Hefelfinger, Jim and Elizabeth White and RA leader Tony Edwards. |
