We Are A Global
Impact Church The Baptist World Alliance, of which we are a member, has named us as a Global Impact Church. That distinction comes because we contribute $1000 yearly to the world wide ministry of the BWA. But long before the BWA gave us that title, we were already a Global Impact Church. Our vision is for a world that needs the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether we are ministering at an Assisted Living Home, cutting someone’s grass, repairing a home, visiting the sick, participating in disaster relief in Grifton, NC or Gulfport, Mississippi, or World Changers in Philadelphia, we are on mission for Christ. Our budget categorizes our mission heart. It is a statement of who we are and what we believe about spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a needy world. Perhaps it would be more accurate if we deleted the word “budget” and renamed it Westwood Ministries. We do not support a budget but rather the ministries that our budget represents. If you need a jump start on prayer, take the Westwood Ministries to which we give financial support and pray regularly for every ministry represented on that document. Our ministries are church approved. We are organized and deliberate in our commitments. We are prayerful in our choices of ministry. For that reason we have no reluctance to ask members who are affiliated with Westwood to be good stewards of their income and to honor God, through his church, with their tithes and offerings. As God has blessed you, will you accept the challenge to honor him with the “FIRST FRUITS” of your income and life? Will you commit to increasing the percentage of your giving so that we can be more effective in our ministries and more faithfully join God in the work that He is doing? |

Drama Team We are the Westwood Drama Team, and we’re looking for your gifts, talents, and support! If you’ve ever wanted to be a part of the dramatic readings and presentations that you sometimes see during a worship service, come be a part. Or maybe you want to help out “behind the scenes” with props, set design, or by creating beautiful costumes – we can use your help there, too! Think you might like to learn some Sign Language and perform to music? Come give it a try! If your time is limited and you can’t make a “permanent” commitment, that’s OK! You can volunteer to help out with a single project, one that fits in with your schedule, and then step back until another opportunity comes along that sparks your interest. We’re flexible! We’ve got lots of ideas – but we need your help to bring them to life as a vital and dynamic part of our worship experience. Currently we’re looking for men and women, boys and girls, folks of all ages, to come together and make this a truly wonderful part of our service. We meet most Sundays at 4:30 p.m. Check the schedule of events on your bulletin for info about Drama Team or contact Caroline Allen or Ken Wilson.

Church Family Portraits The Photography Committee would like to take a high quality color portrait of each church family. This would be for the church records and a future color photo directory. To this end Jimmy Allen has graciously offered to provide his professional services in taking the portraits.

Just D.R.O.P. It When Westwood built our facility at 200 Westhigh, we acquired financing in the form of two notes. One note was for $3,000,000 and the other one was for $500,000. The Debt Reduction Opportunity Program is a new campaign being launched by the Building and Planning Committee to reduce and eliminate the smaller $500,000 note. Our goal is to completely DROP the $500,000 note by Westwood’s 15th anniversary in September 2007. You can help
Westwood DROP the debt by praying for the program and by contributing
to the DROP fund. Just designate DROP on your offering envelope in
order to contribute to the fund. All monies collected by this program
will go directly to reducing the debt! |
| Mission Display Cases In our mission display cases
we have items from Brazil, Spain, Africa and Peru provided by Charles
