Summer is over, but the fun doesn't have to stop!

I can't believe summer has already come and gone. It seems like just yesterday we were making plans for Centrifuge! Thank you for making this summer such an amazing time. Your dedication and excitement made certain these past few months will never be forgotten. Lives were changed; decisions were made; people were reached through your willingness to go; and our youth group is even closer and stronger than before.

As we head into the fall and winter months, I encourage you to stay active in the youth group and to let Westwood be a place of refuge, commitment, and rejuvenation for you. I look forward to our ministry together in the coming months!

Free Youth Fellowship Dinner

October 1, 6:00pm (right before YAC)

Invite a friend or two and join us for good food and fellowship!

Operation In-As-Much

What is OIAM? OIAM is an opportunity to gather as a church to do hands on missions in our community.

When: October 7, 9:00am thru 12noon

Where: Meet at the church where you will be paired with other church members on a project.

Work: Projects may include visiting with shut ins or senior adults, yard work, and cleaning.

"In as much as you did it to one of the least of these...you did it to Me." Matthew 25:40

Trunk or Treat!

When: October 29
Time: 5:00 - 7:00PM

We need youth and parents to help setup, serve, and clean up for the hotdog dinner.

We also need a lot of people to decorate their cars/trucks and pass out candy to the children.

Wednesday Schedule

On Wednesdays we have a missions study from 6:00-7:00 and praise band practice from 7:00-7:30. Those youth not involved with praise band may fellowship quietly or work on homework in a side room.

*On November 22 at 7:00 there will be a churchwide Thanksgiving service instead of regular activities.

*On December 27 all activities are cancelled.

Fall Retreat!

Where: Awanita Valley Retreat Center Marietta, SC

Depart: Friday, November 3 at 4pm Return: Sunday, November 5 after dinner

Cost: $115 plus money for 3 meals. This cost provides lodging, recreation and 4 meals.

Recreation: Horseback riding, Ropes course, Hummer rides, Field games, Volleyball, Basketball, Frisbee Golf.

What We'll Be Doing: Bible Study/Worship, Recreation, Free Time, Bonfire, Hayride

***The deadline to sign up and pay is September 24***

Missions Brunch

When: December 2

Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm

Activities: We'll start out with a church wide brunch and then the youth will help lead the children downstairs in a time of fun and learning.

*If you plan to help, you must have a background check completed, so see me for a form. Otherwise, you will need to attend the adult session during that time.

Youth Ski Trip!

When: Saturday, February 3
Time: Meet at 4:00am at Alpine Ski Center, Raleigh and return at 9:30pm.

Destination: Wintergreen Ski Resort, Virginia

Transportation: Slope and Sail Company (bus)

Cost: $115 per person plus 2 fast food meals

**Deadline for sign up and full payment is Ocober 15. No refunds!!!

*If you go on this trip, you are expected to be at Sunday School and worship the following day.
