“FALL” Into All The Exciting Happenings At Westwood!

What a summer! Thank you for making this summer such an amazing time. At times it seemed like we couldn’t even catch our breath because there was so much to do. Now that we’ve had a breath of fresh air, it’s time to start gearing up for the fall and winter months. There are so many exciting missions, ministry, discipleship, and fellowship opportunities from now until the end of the year. I pray that you will find your niche in Westwood’s youth program, and I look forward to our ministry together in the coming months!

Wednesday Schedule

On Wednesdays we have a missions study from 6:00-7:00 and praise band practice from 7:00-7:30. Those youth not involved with praise band may fellowship quietly or work on homework in a side room.

*On November 21 at 7pm there will be a churchwide Thanksgiving service instead of regular activities.

*On December 26 all activities are cancelled.

Westwood Community Service Day

Westwood Community Service Day is an opportunity to gather as a church family to do hands on missions in our community.

When: 9:00 AM-Noon

Where: Meet at the church where you will be paired with other church members on a project.
Work: Projects will involve heavy yard work so wear old clothes and work gloves. If you have a rake or pruning shears, bring those too!!

Ken's Corny Corn Maze

Okay, this is the year for me to redeem my reputation. I may be directionally challenged, but I WILL find my way out of a field of corn. Anybody up for the challenge?

Time: Leave immediately after worship (bring a change of clothes)
Return to Church: 3:30
Cost: $5 plus money for fast food meal

Time: 6:30-7:30 PM
Where: Fellowship Hall
We’ll lead the congregation in a time of music and sharing.

*Please remember that all praise band members must attend a majority of the practices in order to participate.

Trunk or Treat!

Time: 4:30-7:00
*We need youth and parents to help setup, serve, and clean up for
the hotdog dinner.
*We also need a lot of people to
decorate their cars/trucks and pass out Candy to the children.

YOUTH SPAGHETTI FUNDRAISER LUNCH!!

When: Sunday, November 4, after worship
We need help with Set up, serving, cleanup, and making desserts. Please let me know if you will be available to assist. All proceeds go toward youth activities and events.

Time: 2:45 @ Heartfields
Heartfields is located just past Walmart/Harris
Teeter on Kildaire Farm Road.

Program: I’ll do a short devotion for the residents and we’ll sing a few hymns

Missions Brunch

Time: 10:00 AM-Noon
Activities: We’ll start out with a church wide brunch and then the youth will help lead the children downstairs in a time of fun and learning.
*If you plan to help, you must have a background check completed, so see me for a form. Otherwise, you will need to attend the adult session during that time.

Youth Christmas Party

Time: 4:30-7:00 PM
What we’ll be doing:
We’ll have an early dinner at the church and then go caroling at the homes of senior adults and shut-ins!

The youth will lead a devotion time at Heartfields on December 9 at 3:00 in the afternoon. The handbells will play several songs and we will tell the Christmas Story.
(The Youth Christmas Party will be at the church immediately afterwards.)

Come with your family and a covered dish to enjoy an
evening of food, fun and fellowship at 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 15 in the Fellowship Hall at Westwood.
